Ada Briceño is a workers' rights advocate and a champion for working families.
Ada Briceño is a longtime labor leader with deep roots in Orange County. Born in Latin America, Ada came to the United States as a child after her family fled a hostile dictatorship. She grew up working low-wage jobs to help support her family and later joined the hotel workers union. Today, Ada serves as Co-President of her union, representing more than 32,000 hotel and hospitality workers and has helped them win higher wages, quality affordable healthcare, better benefits, safer workplaces, and stronger job protections. As Chair of the local Democratic Party, Ada helped lead the fight against Trump’s attacks on immigrant communities and women’s rights. Now, Ada is running to lower the cost of living, expand affordable housing and healthcare, protect immigrant communities, and take on corruption to make government work for working families.
1. Standing up to Trump, MAGA Republicans, and ICE raids targeting our communities. Ada came to this country as an immigrant and understands what it means to build a life in America. After fleeing a dictatorship as a child, she became an advocate for immigrants, helping naturalize thousands of citizens and protecting workers from exploitation. She will protect our community from Donald Trump and ICE raids and hold ICE agents accountable for excessive force and violence to ensure those who are here to work hard are treated with respect.
2. Defending women's rights and reproductive freedom. Ada Briceño is a strong advocate for women’s rights and reproductive healthcare. As a former board member of Planned Parenthood, she has stood up for women in the workplace and fought to protect access to abortion and essential reproductive health services. Ada will defend women’s health and bodily autonomy while also fighting for economic equality, fair pay, and opportunities that allow women and families to get ahead and thrive.
3. Bringing down the cost of living. Ada understands what it means to struggle with rising prices and has spent her career fighting to lower costs and help working families get ahead. As a labor leader, she has fought for higher wages, affordable healthcare, and policies that make it easier for families to keep up with the cost of living. Ada will make the California dream affordable again by cracking down on corporate price gouging, providing tax relief for working families, and lowering the cost of groceries, gas, and other everyday essentials.
4. Protecting healthcare access and fighting federal cuts. Ada believes no one should have to choose between seeing a doctor and paying the bills. As Co-President of her union, Ada has helped secure quality affordable healthcare for thousands of workers and their families. At a time when Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are pushing cuts to Medicaid and healthcare programs, Ada will fight to protect and expand access to affordable care. She supports lowering premiums, reducing prescription drug prices, and expanding access to quality healthcare so working families, seniors, and children can get the care they need without going into debt.
